The identification of Kodungallur and Pattanam region as the erstwhile Muziris does not appear to be correct. It is possible that the conclusion was arrived at based on assumptions, rather than solid evidences.
The author meticulously points out and explains the evidences one by one to prove that Munchirai in Kanyakumari district must be Muziris. He relies on Etymology also to identify the place names used in the ancient works. On a lighter note I may add that he is a doctor by profession and that might have helped him to dissect each piece of evidence and analyse them minutely before proposing his theory.

அப்படியான ஒரு பெரும்பணியை மேற்கொண்டு அதன் விளை பொருளை The Discovery Of Muziris என்ற நூலாக வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறார் மருத்துவர் ஆன்டோ ஜார்ஜ். இது வரை முசிறி (Muziris) என்று ஆய்வாளர்களால் முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டிருந்த கேரளாவின் பெரியாற்றங்கரையில் இருக்கும் கொடுங்கல்லூர் மற்றும் பட்டணம் சார்ந்த பகுதி முசிறி அல்ல என்ற மறுக்கும் ஆசிரியர், பல தரவுகளைச் சுட்டி மிக நுணுக்கமான பார்வையோடு தமிழ்நாட்டில் பண்டைய முசிறியை அடையாளப்படுத்துகிறார்.
